Jeffrey Nelson

Jeffrey Nelson was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and attended high school in Bay Ridge at Xaverian High School. He earned a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Johns Hopkins University in 2016. After college, he returned to the City and worked for about a year as a Research Associate at Modern Meadow, a startup company then based in Brooklyn that developed leather from yeast.

After deciding to move away from biological research, Mr. Nelson began his legal education in 2018 at Fordham University School of Law and earned his J.D. in 2021. While at Fordham Law School, Mr. Nelson participated in various activities, including the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Team and Suspension Resolution Project.

After graduation, he worked for the NYC Conflict of Interest Board as an Enforcement Attorney. At the Board, Mr. Nelson handled dozens of cases enforcing the City's conflicts of interest laws against public employees, reaching settlement agreements with the employees and their respective City agencies to determine appropriate penalties. Mr. Nelson joined Ellenberg & Partners as an Associate in September 2023.
